Aftur’s Christmas Calendar: 10th of December

“We took away your art because we thought it would reveal your souls. Or to put it more finely, we did it to prove you had souls at all”

I found this author when I was about 14 and I truly, completely fell in love with his stories. His book; “Never Let Me Go” bore a cheesy title, but the plot, however – was something I had never in my life laid eyes on before. His other book; “The remains of the day” was also breathtaking but in an entirely different way. See, this author has a strange way of making stories that have no relation to each other at all. Both books are so different – but with an equal amount of true, unique quality-writing. The platonic, sensitive and pure love between Kathy and Tommy (in Never Let Me Go) is by far one of the most none-superficial and real descriptions of a love I have ever read. Truly, this is an author to explore – as he sets you in a different mood and challenges your emotions to the core! He’s human, he’s funny and he’s a genius at studying the psychology behind the relations between people. Definitely worth a read. (ps: If you’ve decided to dive into it, I would advice you to begin reading “Never Let Me Go”)
